Gun violence has struck once again, this time, in the Marigot community, claiming the life of another young individual. This, as authorities intensify efforts to rid the streets of illegal firearms.
Preliminary reports indicate that the fatal shooting occurred in Marigot around 9:45 p.m. on Sunday. The victim has been identified only by his street name M8.
This tragic incident comes on the heels of an announcement by the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force last week, confirming a decline in homicides for 2025, with 18 recorded at that time. However, this latest killing has pushed the island’s homicide count to 19.
Law enforcement officials continue to urge public cooperation as they work to crack down on gun-related crimes. Saint Lucia Daily Post will continue to closely monitor this developing story and provide updates as more information becomes available.
