Miami, Florida – April 6, 2025
Two senior executives of Saint Lucia’s National Taxi Union (NTU) are currently representing the island at Seatrade Cruise Global 2025 in Miami, aiming to build strategic relationships and expand business opportunities within the global cruise industry.
NTU President Terry Valcin and Public Relations Officer David Christopher are attending the high-profile international event in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism. Their focus is on positioning Saint Lucia as a viable cruise destination, with special emphasis on homeporting and boosting cruise-related ground transportation services for local operators.
Held annually at the Miami Beach Convention Center, Seatrade Cruise Global is the world’s premier cruise industry event, bringing together decision-makers, innovators, and stakeholders from around the globe. The event, which runs from April 7 to 10 this year, offers a platform for industry professionals to network, learn about new trends, and explore avenues for collaboration.
Speaking from Miami, NTU officials underscored the importance of Saint Lucia’s presence at such events. “This is about making the right connections that can translate into long-term business for our taxi drivers and tourism sector as a whole,” said Valcin.
The NTU executives are part of a broader delegation of Saint Lucian tourism professionals promoting the island’s unique charm and readiness to accommodate an evolving cruise market.
Their participation signals a proactive step by the NTU to secure Saint Lucia’s share of a growing industry and ensure local transport providers are included in future cruise development plans.
