Authorities Crack Down on Unpaid Traffic Fines — Arrest Warrants Loom for Defaulters

Must Read

The Ministry of Justice has issued a stern warning to motorists across Saint Lucia: settle your unpaid traffic ticket fines now or face the consequences.

Records from the First and Second District Courts reveal a mounting number of traffic violations that have gone unpaid for extended periods. Court officials have begun taking decisive steps to recover these outstanding fines and will be publishing lists of individuals with long-standing unpaid tickets in local print media. The move aims to sensitize the public and encourage compliance before more severe enforcement actions are taken.

Public Urged to Act Promptly

Motorists with unresolved traffic tickets are advised to settle their fines immediately at either the First District Court Office in Castries or the Second District Court Office in Vieux-Fort. Failure to comply could result in a Warrant of Arrest being issued against the violators.

In a statement from the District Court Administration, the public was reminded that Notices of Conviction for many of these violations had already been posted previously. The publication of these names is intended as a final call to action before further legal steps are taken.
