A motor vehicular collision occurred in Marisule early this morning, involving a Toyota and a Pajero Mini. The incident took place at 6:27 a.m., drawing emergency services swiftly to the scene.
According to initial reports, there were five persons distributed across the two vehicles at the time of the accident. Additionally, one pedestrian was involved, making a total of six casualties. The extent of their injuries is yet to be disclosed, but emergency personnel were observed providing medical assistance on-site before transferring the injured to nearby medical facilities.
The traffic department has since begun an investigation to determine the cause of the collision, which caused a backlog of vehicular traffic along the island’s main thoroughfare to the north.
One eyewitness who spoke to Saint Lucia Daily Post in the aftermath stated that the Pajero was overtaking while heading south, colliding with the Toyota RAV4, which was heading northbound and driven by a student driver.
“Got some blows to the body. Right knee. Right elbow. Right pelvic. Ribcage. Blow to the head. Waiting on scan results,” said Kingson Jean of Jean’s Driving School.
“My student got some pain to his shoulder and pelvic,” he added.
