Vincentian Police Officer Among Four Arrested in Saint Lucia Drug Bust

Must Read

Vieux Fort, Saint Lucia – A Vincentian police officer is among four individuals arrested in a recent maritime operation at the Vieux Fort Seaport, as the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) intensifies efforts to curb illicit activities.

The operation, conducted on Thursday, led to the interception of a vessel carrying four Vincentian nationals. Authorities discovered a quantity of cannabis and various seafood items aboard the vessel, resulting in the immediate detention of the individuals. Among them is a serving officer of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force.

While the RSLPF has yet to disclose further details, including the exact quantity of drugs seized and the specific nature of the seafood items, the arrests underscore the ongoing fight against illegal trafficking in Saint Lucia’s waters.

This latest bust comes amid heightened scrutiny of law enforcement personnel, following the high-profile arrest of a senior Saint Lucian police officer last month. That officer was taken into custody on allegations of stealing an M16 rifle from the Gros Islet Police Station and remains incarcerated at the Bordelais Correctional Facility as investigations continue.

The RSLPF has assured the public that they remain steadfast in tackling crime and upholding the integrity of the nation’s security forces. Further updates on this developing case are expected as authorities continue their inquiries.
